Richard is autistic, and a Partner at KPMG, one of the UK’s largest consultancy firms with a turnover of nearly £3bn. He’s been working in fast moving “Big 4” consultancy firms for nearly 28 years, starting as a graduate trainee and working up to Partner at Deloitte before moving to KPMG eight years ago.
He helps his clients with complicated VAT problems (the work is a mix of legal interpretation and financial analysis), and leads both KPMG’s Indirect Tax business in the Midlands, and its National Public Sector VAT team.
Because of all this, Richard spends a lot of time thinking about how you manage your disability so you can perform at work, preventing burnout, and team working. This includes mentoring other neurodiverse people at KPMG.
Outside of work he’s married with two young daughters, a charity trustee for Cure Leukaemia, does a collection of sports (which help as a form of stimming) including running, Krav Maga, and skiing!
