Winston Taylor has a broad and robust Inclusion strategy, as part of this we established a Neurodiversity working group and our DiversAbility Network. We are open to, and encourage students with a disability to apply to us. Our transparency and accessibility ensures we are able to accommodate adjustments to our recruitment process, and working life within the Firm. With that, our DiversAbility network has recently launched to raise awareness of disabilities (both visible and invisible) across the firm, ensuring proper measures are in place to create an accessible, safe and user-friendly environment for all our colleagues; reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and ensure that our employees and partners are well supported when dealing with mental health conditions. One of our key areas of work is to promote wellness in the firm as a way of improving the lives of everyone at Winston Taylor and preventing the onset of physical and mental health conditions.
We are also a member of the Business Disability Forum and we are working closely with them as part of our Disability inclusion journey. Amongst other services, this provides access to resources designed to offer guidance and support around how to support disability within the workplace.
Winston Taylor’s commitment to disability has served to strengthen our business and create an inclusive and transparent firm culture.
Clients value working with an organisation that places emphasis on equality and accessibility and we have found we are at our most effective when we are comfortable to be ourselves within the workplace. The firm’s private medical insurance scheme is in place to help employees with their particular challenges, as well as the Employee Assistance Helpline – a free and confidential service in place to provide practical solutions. Our Workstation Assessment team are on hand to provide assistance with the setup of individual workspaces, as well as the ability to perform work place adjustments should they be required.
Winston Taylor recognises that in the modern working environment there is often a need to juggle work and personal lives while at times delivering work under pressure or within tight deadlines. Having the opportunity to open up and talk about any symptoms of stress at an early stage is a key factor in keeping well. We now have a full team of accredited Mental Health First Aiders across the firm who are trained to spot symptoms of mental health conditions, offer assistance and on a day to day basis and guide a person towards support. To also promote wellbeing we have weekly mindfulness sessions and yoga classes twice a week at the firm.
Starting out matters. Here’s where you make it count.
When you start your legal career at Winston Taylor, you’ll be involved in work that matters. We work with the businesses and people driving capital and innovation, so you will too - you’ll be part of their breakthrough moments from day one. You’ll learn from talented lawyers across practices, gaining exposure to complex work, high-performing teams, and the decisions that shape industries and outcomes.
