Our disability and mental health network is called Enable. It seeks to support employees with disabilities and champion accessibility within our workplace. There are also specific workstreams around neurodiversity, invisible illnesses, and mental health.
What is Enable?
Fidelity International is committed to improving accessibility and enablement for our employees with disabilities and health conditions.
‘Disability’ means different things to different people, depending on where you are in the world. Typically, when we think about disability, many people will imagine a wheelchair user. At Fidelity, we have a more inclusive approach. We recognise that disability is much broader than many people think, and many disabilities aren’t visible. We consider disabilities to happen when someone’s health condition (e.g. physical, sensory, mental or neuro-diverse) comes up against a barrier in recruitment, employment or day-to-day life.
Achievements and targets
We have made great progress in the D&I space but recognise we can always improve. Our Enable priorities are:
Awareness
Continue to increase awareness around disability inclusion through the global celebration of World Mental Health Day on the 10 October and International Day of People with Disabilities on the 3 December.
Support
Develop a consistent global framework to make it easy for employees with disabilities to access the adjustments and support they need.
We have launched a partnership with Posturite in some markets, allowing employees to self-refer to access support. This support could include software, workplace adjustments, or even a neurodiversity coach.
Talent
More proactively recruit disabled talent and build a robust pipeline of disabled talent. We welcome a conversation with candidates about adjustments and support which can help you to approach our recruitment process confidently.
Data
Ask our employees to Count Yourself In and complete the disability section of your diversity profile. This is entirely confidential and anonymous, and will allow Fidelity to track our progress on disability inclusion and ensure we focus efforts on the areas that require most attention
We treat disability inclusion and wellbeing as a business priority
▪We set objectives relating to disability inclusion in business goals
▪Disability and wellbeing is an agenda item at board-level meetings
▪We hold senior leaders accountable for progress on disability inclusion

During the initial application stage, applicants have the opportunity to disclose if they have a disability. We strongly advise applicants to do this, it will have no bearing on your application apart from allowing us to provide the adjustments you need.
You are also able to select whether you require reasonable adjustments at the online assessment stages; we are then able to add extra time for you.
If you require a different adjustment then please reach out to earlycareersatfidelity@fil.com and we would be happy to arrange a telephone call to discuss the adjustments you may need and how we provide this. This is important to us so that candidates with disabilities can perform to the best of their ability. An example of this would be arranging a telephone interview instead of a video interview.
It is never too late to request support!
Why is Disability Inclusion important to Fidelity?
We know that sometimes people face barriers in the workplace or in recruitment because of their disabilities or health conditions. We want to design an inclusive workplace and recruitment process where we remove the barriers that could get in the way of your success – whoever and wherever you are – so you can perform to the best of your ability.
