At Aon, we exist to shape decisions for the better - to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.
We’ve been on a decade-plus journey to connect our global capabilities, so we can address our clients’ top priorities more effectively. Through our global expertise across two key areas of need – Risk Capital and Human Capital – our clients are better advised within, and across, their risk and people strategies.
United as one firm, we help our clients shape business decisions for the better. We believe that businesses thrive when the communities they serve and the people they employ also flourish. We provide our clients with the advice and solutions that give them the clarity and confidence to make better decisions to protect and grow their business. Our collaborative approach ensures every Aon client is better informed, better advised and able to make better decisions that protect and grow their business.
This is how we support our disabled graduates and employees:
1.Workability UK Group:
A volunteer run Business Resource Group (BRG) that creates community around disability and neurodiversity. It connects colleagues who have an impairment, condition or ability related difference, and those who support family, friends or colleagues who do. The group celebrates the positive aspects of disability and neurodiversity and the people who intersect with ability related identities of all kinds.
2.Inclusive and accessible design:
Workability encourages accessible and inclusive design approaches and supports the coordination of focus groups and user specific research to produce better results in our systems, spaces, products and interactions.
3.Social model of disability:
We recognise the social model of disability, which defines disability not as an individual “defect” but as something co created when a person with an impairment or difference meets inaccessible environments and experiences. This perspective informs how we think about adjustments and barriers.
4.Colleague led support and advice:
The disability group is a colleague led part of Aon UK’s Diversity & Inclusion approach and acts as a support function for any colleague affected by disability related matters, including carers. The group can advise and signpost around issues such as workplace support, inclusion and adjustments.
5.Ongoing engagement and resources:
Workability is currently engaged in several projects and coordinates quarterly colleague sharing sessions. The group meets monthly as a planning committee and shares updates via Viva Engage, email and MS Teams. Colleagues can also access a range of resources, including Neurodiversity Resources, Confident Conversation Guides, the Disability Group Framework, and Manager Guidance on Supporting Colleagues with Autism.
Our UK Disability and Mental Health networks bring together colleagues with lived experience of disability, long‑term health conditions and neurodivergence, as well as allies.
Through Workability UK and our wider Diversity & Inclusion approach, we encourage disabled and neurodivergent students and graduates to join our talent pipelines, and we provide guidance and resources to help managers and teams create accessible and inclusive experiences once graduates join Aon.
Aon’s approach to disability inclusion in the UK is informed by the Equality Act and broader equal‑opportunities legislation, but it also recognises that legislation alone cannot address all the issues facing disabled people. We are mindful of the many factors that affect disabled colleagues’ lives – including understanding from colleagues, job satisfaction, motivation, support and work/life balance – and we emphasise that valuing diversity is about fair treatment for all and ensuring we do not consciously or unconsciously perpetuate discrimination.
The UK government estimates that one in four people has a disability or close family members with a disability – Aon’s Workability group helps colleagues navigate these experiences, whether for themselves or as carers.
Aon recognises that legislation such as the Equality Act is important, but that it cannot address all the issues facing disabled people. Our approach also focuses on culture, understanding, support, work/life balance and fair treatment.
The Aon disability group is a colleague‑led part of our Diversity & Inclusion approach, offering support to any colleague who feels affected by disability‑related matters, including carers.
We emphasise that valuing diversity is not about special treatment but about fair treatment for all and ensuring we do not consciously or unconsciously perpetuate discrimination.
Aon has been recognised for its diversity, equity and inclusion efforts globally. In the UK, Aon won the Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award at the Insurance Times Awards in 2024. In Ireland, Aon achieved the Investors in Diversity Gold standard in 2021 and has since retained this accreditation through subsequent reassessments (most recently in 2026).
Aon has achieved an externally assessed diversity and inclusion standard (Investors in Diversity – Gold) from the Irish Centre for Diversity, demonstrating strong practice in building inclusive workplaces.
Across regions, Aon has also been recognised by industry bodies for DE&I leadership, reflecting our commitment to inclusive workplaces and equitable outcomes for colleagues.

If you are disabled, neurodivergent or have a long‑term health condition, we encourage you to apply to Aon and to tell us what you need to perform at your best. Disability and neurodiversity are part of normal human diversity, and we focus on fair treatment, not ‘special treatment’.
You are not expected to share medical details; instead, you can tell us about the adjustments that would help you participate in our recruitment process and, if you join us, in the workplace. Information you share is treated with sensitivity and is used to help remove barriers – for example, by adjusting assessments, interviews or working arrangements.
We recognize that many factors shape your experience, including job satisfaction, motivation, support and work/life balance. Our Workability UK Group and wider D&I framework help colleagues and managers have confident conversations about disability and neurodiversity and make use of tools such as neurodiversity resources, conversation guides and manager guidance.
When you consider applying, we encourage you to focus on your strengths and potential – such as your problem‑solving, collaboration, curiosity or analytical skills – and to think about how your lived experience and perspective can add value to our clients and teams.
