“I am registered blind and I have a point to prove to the world. My Plus is my courage and the reason why I put myself forward for anything which scares me.
Being registered blind has made me confident to take on any challenge. It has taught me to empathise with other people who face day to day barriers, and it has opened doors to fantastic experiences which I otherwise wouldn’t know about.
If I had a chance to change my disability then I would flatly refuse because it has made me who I am, and taught me that I really can achieve anything in my life – no matter what barriers I may face. Just because I am registered blind does not mean that I cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel [pun intended].” – Chloe Hurd.
