“I didn’t know I had dyslexia until very recently. During my first year at university, no matter how hard I tried, I found it difficult to work as quickly or as clearly as my course mates. It was hard to find out that I was dyslexic so late, as it meant that I had gone through most of education with no support for my learning.
Having dyslexia has made me work harder as I have had to learn to compensate for the extra time I spend on ‘easy’ assignments. I have developed coping mechanisms to deal with my setbacks and learnt to approach problems more creatively and patiently throughout my day to day life. My Plus is my strength.”
