My Openness Statement

Not surprisingly, people are often reluctant to be open about their disability because they worry about things such as discrimination, how the information will be used and / or being treated differently.

However, being open can have benefits. It can enable you to request the support you need, demonstrate your strengths and build an honest relationship with a potential employer.

If you decide to be open about your disability, it is important to think about what you want to say and how you want to say it.

This guide will help you create your openness statement step by step. You can also use the attached downloadable and editable template to develop your personal statement.
