As operators of the Motability Scheme, we aim to provide a wide range of cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, scooters and powered wheelchairs that meet our customers' disability needs.

We are the largest fleet operator in the UK and the biggest supplier of used cars to the trade, we are owned by the major banks: Barclays Bank plc, Lloyds Group plc, HSBC Bank plc and Royal Bank of Scotland plc.

The Motability Scheme is designed to provide customers with a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair without the worry of owning and running one. Today, over 640,000 disabled people and their families benefit from the worry-free mobility available through the Scheme.

We have offices in London and Bristol and there are approximately 850 employees based between these two sites.

The Graduate Programme

Our graduate programme is unique. We provide an 18 month programme during which time you get to try out a number of different types of roles, and learn a broad range of new skills. At the end of the 18 months, you will then move into a permanent role within the business.

Required Skills and Academic Qualifications

Adaptability is crucial. To do well here you’ll need to be able to deal with the unexpected and work on matters that are outside your experience and knowledge. Above all, you need a big appetite for success.

To qualify for the graduate programme you’ll have a minimum of a 2:1 degree. But whatever your skills and whatever your degree, there’s a wealth of challenge and inspiration on offer at Motability Operations.

We have a Disability Networking Group which is made up of volunteers from across the business. The focus of the group is to nurture internal disability champions, increase awareness, build confidence and drive disability best practice within Motability Operations.

Examples of adjustments that we have made for employees include;

  • Providing specialist equipment such as a fibre optic mouse, telephony equipment for hearing impaired employees and visual aids for a dyslexic employee
  • Additional coaching sessions for employees that have had extended periods out of work, to rebuild their confidence
  • Phased return to work plans for employees that have had time out of work
Disability Networking Group - Our disability working group provides an internal networking forum for employees, disabled and non-disabled, from all areas of our business. The group aims to increase disability confidence by discussing various topics that affect our employees and customers.
