Back Up to Work: A course for people with spinal cord injury who want to return to work or volunteering
If you attend Back Up to Work you will receive advice on job hunting, reasonable adjustments and the law. It also offers you the chance to enhance your CV, identify your transferable skills and practice your interview techniques with real recruiters in a supportive environment.
The courses are run by Back Up, a UK charity for everyone affected by spinal cord injury, in partnership with Helen Cooke, CEO and Founder of MyPlus Consulting and MyPlus Students’ Club, and Becky Hill, an HR professional. Helen and Becky are spinal cord injured themselves. All courses are hosted by a partner company, whose staff often get involved in aspects of the course, such as practice interviews.
The courses are not about finding a job but about equipping you with the knowledge and confidence you need to work towards your employment goals. Additionally, we offer tailored one-to-one support based on your goals and aspirations.
