AS Mentoring and Autism Forward Online Event
This is an online open event, sharing information about our upcoming 1 year, monthly group for Autistic jobseekers. The group will be facilitated by AS Mentoring Employment Consultants Mark and Georgia.
We plan to run the group between September 2024 and September 2025 following the Online Introductory Event on Monday 12th August 12pm to 1pm.
Thereafter, the 12 month group will run once per month for 2 hours starting September 2024. The full schedule is to be confirmed.
The Group aims to:
- Reduce Isolation amongst participants.
- Improve attendees’ confidence when looking for work and applying for jobs.
- Create a safe, motivating and encouraging space for individuals to share their jobseeking experiences.
- Equip participants with information, tools and resources to improve their job-seeking strategies and knowledge. Topics will include finding inclusive employers, pathways into employment and requesting workplace adjustments.
- Boost confidence and self-advocacy skills in requesting adjustments.
- To support individuals with navigating recruitment processes.
Who is it for?
- Autistic job seekers (18+ years, you must have a diagnosis or be actively seeking one)
- Individuals not currently accessing Autism Forward funded 1-2-1 employment mentoring support. or Autism specialist employment support from another organisation
- Residents of England and Wales
- Unemployed individuals or those working 4 hours per week maximum
- Individuals who can independently attend the online meetings
