This year, following the recent adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the role of these goals in building a more inclusive and equitable world for persons with disabilities, we will be celebrating International Day on December 3rd and reflecting on the theme of ‘Achieving 17 Goals for the Future We Want’.
If you are already a member of MyPlus Students’ Club, you may know that we are working to achieve goals of our own, to ensure that having a disability or long-term health condition doesn’t prevent anyone from having the career they want to have. Not only do we want students like yourself to realise your ambitions, our team also work to help the UK’s top employers benefit from the unique talents and strengths that individuals with disabilities can, and do, bring to an organisation.
This week, we’re featuring a number of thought leadership articles and interviews on overcoming challenges and achieving personal career goals:
Yasmin Sheikh, Disability Consultant and Coach shares her observations around the language and history of disability, and top tips to overcome these challenges.
Becky Coleman, MSc Human Resource Management and Employment Relations graduate tells us what her experience studying and working was like on the Unilever Future Leaders Programme.
