MyPlus Consulting was established in 2006 to help progressive employers realise the new possibilities of hiring people with disabilities. This wasn’t simply a question of being fair and inclusive; it was (and still is) about working with employers to ensure that they don’t miss out on a huge talent pool by opening up their recruitment process, and becoming disability confident in all aspects of hiring and employment.
After working with the UK’s top graduate employers and recruiters, Helen realised that there was a need to provide talented graduates with disabilities with the connections, job opportunities and advice to enable them to confidently navigate the recruitment process at these organisations. Thus in 2013, the idea for a disability focused graduate careers website was born!

Today, www.myplusstudentsclub.com connects students from all over the UK with employers who value talent.
MyPlus Students’ Club exists to offer specialist careers advice to students who have a disability* or long term health condition. By working with top graduate recruiters and university services our sole intention is to help students identify and realise new possibilities and feel confident as they embark on the recruitment process armed with the knowledge and skills to maximise their chances of success.
*Disability and long term health conditions include, but are not limited to: visual and hearing impairments, mobility impairments, Asperger’s Syndrome, diabetes, epilepsy, dyslexia, dyspraxia, mental health conditions, speech impairments and major illnesses such as cancer and MS.

As the Director of MyPlus Helen takes responsibility for the overall strategy and management of the different elements of the business. Helen provides MyPlus Consulting expertise to our clients, delivers MyPlus Recruiters’ Club events and represents the company at external events including key note speaking engagements and panellist.
Helen also runs MyPlus Students' Club events on behalf of different industry sectors for students who have a disability. Designed to build the confidence of individual’s to apply to organisations and gain the support they require both during the recruitment process, they also provide Helen with invaluable insights which she draws upon in her work in bringing disabled students and employers together.
In addition to her own experiences of disability, Helen has worked extensively with other disabled individuals. Helen has gained a lot of experience from her involvement with The Back Up Trust, an organisation which supports individuals after spinal cord injury. In 2007, Helen developed the Back Up to Work course which she continues to deliver today and in 2016 Helen was incredibly proud to become a mentor for the Back Up Trust.
Emma is part of the MyPlus Student’s Club team, with responsibility for Marketing Strategy and Membership of MyPlus Students’ Club. Emma graduated in Commerce from the University of Birmingham before starting her career with Marks and Spencer as a graduate trainee. Four years later, Emma joined Mars Inc. where she undertook many diverse roles in Sales and Marketing before spending four years in Learning and Development delivering Sales training. After a career break Emma worked at Sphere of Influence delivering bespoke training and facilitation across different industries.
Emma has balanced working and living abroad with raising her four children. Married to an Aussie, she spent several years in Melbourne before coming back to the UK in 2009. She is an enthusiastic traveller and enjoys visiting new places with the family where they can relax and enjoy time together. Emma is now settled back in the UK and life is as busy as ever. The opportunities available to students with disabilities today are huge and she is proud to part of a business that is determined to promote and guide them as they embark on their careers.
Jo is part of the MyPlus Student’s Club team, with responsibility for Content and Marketing MyPlus Students’ Club. Jo graduated from the University of the West of England with a BA (Hons) degree in European Studies & Information Systems. Initially starting to train to become a management accountant, Jo changed careers and joined Mars Inc in 1996. Jo has worked at Mars for over 20 years in various roles from sales, category management, marketing, shopper marketing to consumer care.
Jo is married to Simon, with two children and a Jack Russell puppy. Jo devotes her spare time to her family, and various voluntary work at her local primary school, her local church, and running the admin for her son’s football team. Jo enjoys mountain biking, walking, and eating great food!
Jo is proud to be part of a business that truly makes a difference to the lives of students & graduates with disabilities.
Hui Min is a content manager at MyPlus Students’ Club, where she works to provide disabled students and graduates with all the latest careers stories and employment opportunities to inform (and inspire!) their job search. Having recently graduated from Warwick Business School in 2016, Hui Min has a fantastic understanding of today’s graduates and is constantly thinking of new content ideas to address the challenges disabled graduates may face in pursuing their dream career. When she’s not in front of a screen writing ebook guides for students, you can find her exploring the art-filled streets of her hometown in Penang, Malaysia, where she works remotely.
