Our mission is to ensure that having a disability or long-term health condition doesn't prevent anyone from having the career that they want to have. Not only do we want disabled individuals to realise their career ambitions, we also want employers to benefit from the unique talents and strengths that disabled individuals can, and do, bring to an organisation.

  • Having spent a number of years helping graduate recruiters develop more inclusive recruitment practices for disabled graduates, I realised that graduates themselves needed support.

I heard the same questions from students, should I be open about my disability? What should I tell an employer? What support will they provide? Is there anyone else like me in the organisation? Will employers really support me once I have joined?

  • I started MyPlus Students' Club in 2013 to provide recruitment advice and careers information for students and graduates with a disability or long-term health condition. The aim is to bridge the gap between disability-confident employers and students, and answer all of the questions that you have as you apply for jobs and prepare for interviews!

Disabilities include, but are not limited to, conditions such as visual and hearing impairments, mobility impairments, Asperger's Syndrome, diabetes, epilepsy, dyslexia, dyspraxia, mental health conditions, speech impairments and major illnesses such as cancer and MS.

  • Today, the club has grown in membership from a range of universities and also includes 25 employers across a wide range of industries. As well as sharing advice, we actively encourage employers to talk about their approaches to disability, and feature graduates and senior leaders who are managing their disability in the workplace.
